Wednesday July 28, 2010 Fort St. John: Today, Don Irwin announced he will seek the Conservative Party of Canada nomination to be the MP for Prince George--Peace River.

“Jay Hill has done an excellent job of serving our area and the country and I want to continue and expand his work in north-east BC and in Ottawa” stated Irwin.
Don, joined the Reform Party in 1989 and since then has taken many leadership roles within the conservative movement. He served two terms as a BC representative on the National Council of the Reform Party and Canadian Alliance. He has also served as riding association President in Prince George--Peace River and Kelowna, as well as working as a Regional Organizer in Central BC.
He is currently serves as the Election Readiness Chair in Prince George--Peace River and is one of two BC representatives on the National Policy Committee.
“I am running for the Conservative nomination because I believe we need common-sense voices in Ottawa to keep taxes down and to provide a strong voice for the people of the Peace country, Prince George and the northern Rockies,” said Irwin.
Don is the principal of Christian Life School in Fort St. John.
The Conservative nomination in Prince George--Peace River will be held in the next few months to replace long-time MP Jay Hill, who recently announced that he will not be running again.
