Good Nightmares Make Good Neighbours

For the past eight years Don and Terry Blunden have been delighting trick or treaters with their sensationally decorated house on Greenwood Street. This year they kicked their status of Halloween royalty up a notch by turning their backyard into a terrifyingly haunted Halloween paradise.

The Blunden’s haunted yard was very carefully and thoughtfully organized which allowed the lineup of eager trick or treaters to move quickly and efficiently. Before being allowed entry, participants were greeted by a welcoming hostess who made sure everyone signed the guestbook before entering the nightmarish spectacle.

A creatively designed bar in the elaborately decorated, but substantially less scary, front yard provided the large crowd with hot Halloween themed beverages.  This bar also served as a safe haven for those unwilling to brave the haunting backyard scene as well as the handful of trick or treaters who had hurriedly ducked out early to escape the terror that the backyard’s haunted mayhem contained.

Those who courageously braved the entirety of the Blunden’s exhilarating creation were rewarded with exceptionally spooky creations and thrilling Halloween characters. The overall experience proved to be a ton of fun for everyone. The Blundens generously provided the children, and adults, in their neighborhood with a fabulous Halloween night and spooktacular horrors to talk about at the bonfire a short walk away.
