One More Girl is a Canadian country music duo composed of actor-singers, Britt and Carly McKillip, who are sisters, and have been singing and playing music since they were little. Only back then it was a hairbrush for a microphone and the coffee table for a stage. They are nineteen and twenty-one now, and even though it feels like they’ve been doing this a long time, nothing could have prepared them for the last couple of years, because it’s been really crazy.
They signed to EMI Canada in 2008 and released their debut single,
I Can Love Anyone, that year. Their debut album,
Big Sky, was released in Canada on October 6, 2009. They have released four singles from the album:
I Can Love Anyone,
Misery Loves Company,
When It Ain’t Raining and
Tumblin’ Tears.
They finished recording their first album, got signed to a major label, and went on a sold-out cross-Canada tour opening for Johnny Reid, Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum in Jamaica. The duo released four singles, shot four videos, and had two of those singles go top 10.
They had a number one video on Country Music Television (CMT), won a Canadian Radio Music Award for Best New Group or Solo Artist (Country) and had their album go number one on the iTunes country charts the day after it was released. Not bad for a couple of girls from Maple Ridge, B.C.
They want you to hear their music and feel like you instantly know them, like you can relate to what they are feeling and saying, and recognize yourself somewhere in the song.
